How dietitians fuel for the morning

Being able to get creative in the kitchen with breakfast is why it is my favourite meal of the day.

Even though breakfast is one of my favourite meals of the day it is also one of the hardest to prepare. Why? Well like for most people mornings can be a rush of activity and having to then also prepare breakfast can be a bit of a push.

Breakfast should be nourishing and on a weekday, quick and easy to prepare to fuel you for the day.

So for a weekday I choose a easy breakfast. Something I can make but then enjoy eating on my way to work. My go to: Bircher muesli. The great thing about bircher muesli is that it gives me the carbohydrates and fibre for gut health and I add a few berries for sweetness and nuts to make sure I'm getting some healthy fats in my diet.

Weekends are all about brunching. I do enjoy a scrambled egg on sourdough toast with chili, herbs and tomato. The reason I love this meal option is it is super filling and can keep me going for the rest of the day.
